Weather Office

Weather Office for iPad is a light—weight and network—efficient application that provides Canadian weather and forecast data for over 800 sites.

Custom icons were designed for the application along with a unique interface that allows users to quickly focus on the data without pointless UI clutter.

Released June 24, 2010 for $0.99 for a limited time only (reg $1.99). We have planned upgrades already in the queue.

Data sourced from NOAA/NWS is not subject to copyright. However the images and layout of Weather Office.app are copyright X2 Studios, ltd.

So what's next?

Next we take over the world. Stay tuned as we sort out the numerous issues with additional data sources. Major cities will probably come first.

Known issues:
1. Some users report highs or lows missing. They are not missing, they shouldn't be there. That is how forecasts are reported for 12 hour periods. We have done some educated guessing for morning lows, nights still only have a low (normally, if it's hotter at night they will have a high).

From EC: "Generally, temperatures rise through the day and fall through the night and a forecast for a day or night period will include the highest or lowest temperature expected." We report the first 3 or 4 periods as 12 hour periods, not days, for EC sourced data. Sources that use NOAA data are all reported as 12 hour periods.

Note: one customer on the Canadian store reported no search for sites. Scroll up, it's there.
